They play a foundational role in shaping the organization's growth, governance, and long-term sustainability, including supporting the prize selection process.

Jokes on Her was founded by playwright Sandy Rustin who aims to bring laughter to audiences with female-centric comedies where women aren’t the butts of jokes; they’re the orchestrators.

The Advisory Board

The Advisory Board includes award-winning theatre professionals with a passion for comedies who provide strategic insight and advocacy to help expand the organization's reach and impact.

Theatre Council

The Jokes on Her’s Theatre Council is made up of a national network of acclaimed theatres and organizations, helping to generate a pipeline for each year's winning play and, ultimately, an index of production-ready, women-written comedies. Participating theatres may offer the winning playwright studio space, table reads, 29-hour readings, workshops, artistic resources, and more.
